Supple tricks over St Giles’s

On 10th July 1598, David Weir, “ane juggler”, “playit supple tricks” on a tightrope suspended from the top of the steeple of St Giles’s Cathedral to Edinburgh’s mercat cross. King James VI gave him £20.
